Outdoor Places for Ceremonies: Are you thinking about a ceremony at a beautiful outdoor location in or around Brisbane…. perhaps in a park, on a beach, in the bush, by the bay, on the top of a mountain or by a lake or river-side? Here are some thoughts to keep in mind when you are making your arrangements.
An Outdoor Ceremony: If you are considering an outdoor ceremony, you are spoiled for choices in and around Brisbane! Brisbane and the surrounding regions have beautiful locations for a ceremony and photographs.
The natural beauty of the parks and gardens in the area provide some wonderful locations for ceremonies. The Brisbane River, Moreton Bay, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast or Hinterland areas cater for all tastes and styles to ensure your day will be exactly the way you want it to be. Look through the many photographs on this website to see where couples have chosen for their ceremonies.
South East Corner of Queensland Climate: When considering an outdoor venue, climate and weather conditions are very important to keep in mind. Here are some points to keep in mind:
- rainfall during summer can be high – particularly with afternoon thunderstorms. It’s wise to have a Plan B…..just in case;
- December through mid-March can be hot and humid;
- winters are usually crisp and clear with moderate temperatures averaging around 10 degrees with a maximum around 17 degrees;
- spring and autumn are usually warm and dry – these are the most popular times for ceremonies.
A Park Ceremony: Brisbane has over 100 parks dotted throughout the area ranging from small local parks to larger district parks and two Botanic Gardens (one in the city and one at Mt Coot-tha).
If you choose a park for your ceremony, you need to book through the local council. Most outdoor locations require a permit from the local council or national parks. This usually involves a fee. Make sure that you book your spot as early as possible to avoid being disappointed if it’s not available on your day.
