Here is what a recent bride & groom wrote: Althea was brilliant from start to finish. The entire process was seamless & the experience of marriage enriched by her expertise & gentle approach. The service was drafted & amount of material supplied for us to find the perfect readings and poems was spot on. The suggestions were perfectly tailored to our personalities & we thoroughly appreciated how much effort & work Althea put into our service & marriage process. I cannot fault her! She was wonderful. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a celebrant that goes above & beyond to ensure a perfect day. Georgie & Michael
While this afternoon had turned a little rainy & breezy, this was soon forgotten as Louise, Rhys & I settled down to discuss their marriage ceremony. With all the legal requirements completed it was fun to start thinking about the wide range of options available for their wedding.
They are planning a mid-afternoon ceremony in a few months time. The venue they have chosen will be great what ever the weather – come rain or shine!
Sunday morning in the West End Village was a lovely time for Rhiannon, Tom & me to meet. Over a coffee & juices we got to know one another; discuss what they wanted & didn’t want in their ceremony & complete the legal documents required at this time. Now it’s up to me to put fingers to the keyboard to develop the first draft of their marriage ceremony for their consideration.
Liann, Jason & I are yet to meet. While they are living in Edinburgh they have decided they want to share their marriage ceremony with family & friends in Brisbane. Mutual friend, Marney did her weaving to link the three of us together. Let’s hear it for friends eh!
As there is an Australian Consulate in Edinburgh, they will be able to have their Notification of Intended Marriage (NOIM) form witnessed over there…..easy!
I’m looking forward to meeting them in the not too distant future.
Helen & John plan to marry & then celebrate their marriage with family & friends at their favourite West End restaurant. We met there this morning. This was really helpful because we could discuss how things will work. With all the paper work completed, the three of us can now focus on creating a ceremony just the way they want it to be.
Tarame, Ian & I met at the Coffee Club in the West End Village to start the ball rolling by discussing what they would like included in their marriage ceremony. Once the Notification of Intended Marriage was completed, I had seen the originals of their birth certificates & tucked away copies of these documents for my records, we turned our minds to the ceremony – what to include…& what to leave out. Lots to think about…..soooo exciting!
Kate & Jonathan are planning to exchange their marriage vows with their dearest family & friends gathered around them as witnesses.
They are considering which readings or poems to include in their ceremony that resonate with them. Choosing ones that are just right can be quite a tricky endeavour…..happy hunting!
I met with Kellie & Matthew a couple of days ago at Era on Melbourne Street South Brisbane to complete the first legal requirement - the completion of the Notification of Intended Marriage or NOIM for short.
Once we completed this we started talking about their marriage ceremony, which is always fun & exciting. They are planning an intimate ceremony around mid-afternoon.
The New Farm Park Rotunda provided a iconically Queensland setting when family & friends joined Maria & Trent when they renewed their marriage vows.
Matt played some beautiful music as Maria & Trent walked down the aisle. Andy read a poem Trent wrote for the occasion.
Harrison & Charlotte looked after the rings until it was time for them to be exchanged by Maria & Trent.
Trent’s sister Jodie coordinated a long to be remembered fabulous occasion. It was such a happy time. More photographs are featured in Gallery 7.
Maria & Trent flew in from Copenhagen Denmark late last week. While they married in Denmark back in April this year, they want to demonstrate their heartfelt thanks to their family & friends in Australia for their support. They decided that a good way to do this is through a Renewal of their Marriage Vows Ceremony followed with a reception.
Maria & Trent are very fortunate to have Jodie, Trent’s sister in Brisbane to do much of the organisation for the day. Jodie & I met some months ago to get the ball rolling (See the earlier story called Let’s Hear it for Sisters).
It seems as if the months have flown by since we first met & this morning we all met at Ugees at West End for coffee & to fine-tune the ceremony. It’ going to be a wonderful day.
